  	James Grady Jr. died of smallpox that he contracted from his sister Caldonia. It is said that he told Caldonia "You have been the death of me" and then died.

Dau)- the story of James M. Grady and Family " Grandma (Caldonia) was washing clothes outside and a hot coal from the fire flew up and burned her on the throat. They grabbed a can of grease and rubbed the grease on her throat, but the grease had been used before by people who had smallpox. Grandma got the smallpox and young Jim got it from her. He said "Callie you've been the death of me" and told them to carry him to the cemetery when he died. He is buried in Riverton Cemetery. Right after that both Grandpa and Grandma Grady died. (Presumably from smallpox) and are buried on the top of the hill above Riverton. Their graves are not marked and are the only ones there. You can find them by sunken spots. Harriet Grady Powell died when her twins were born and is buried in Riverton Cemetery. Grave is not marked. Wiley and Monroe Hays are buried in Riverton Cemetery in unmarked graves inside an iron fence close to the graves of their parents- John Jesse Hays and Caldonia Grady Hays. Lucy M Wilcoxson is buried in Bethune (Davis) Cemetery. Victoria said they brought Daniel Wilcoxson back from Arkansas and buried him in Bethune Cemetery". Cora Hays Isbell From her notebook.
