Hays, Dee Lora and extended family Description: Left to right: Stella Davis Hays Dee Lora Hays Cora Hays Hawn John Winston Hays
Hays, Donna She married who she considered the best man in the world, Oden Hendricks. They eloped to Tooele Utah, and were married by a justice of the peace. His fee was $5.00, but since they only had four dollars, they folded them up, gave it to him, and ran out after the ceremony very quick. Donna went back with her parents to live for a short while, not telling them she was married. When Ode came to get her, Dee Lora Hays (her father) chased him away with his cane flying in the air. They lived in Salt Lake for a while, where First child Gay was born then they moved to San Francisco where Becky was born. In the late 50's they built a house, almost entirely by themselves, in Mill Valley, California. Donna went to work as a telephone operator, then as an executive house keeper at the Saint Francis Hotel.
